More than 3,700 churches close every year. More than 80% of the churches that remain are plateaued or in decline. To reverse this trend, our association is committed to directing significant resources toward church revitalization efforts so churches can once again make a gospel impact in their communities.

If you believe you are called to lead a church through the revitalization process, or if you are currently pastoring a church that you believe is in need of help, we want you to contact us right away. We will assess your church’s needs and then make a plan with you to help your local church effectively engage in the mission once again.

Our ministry director, Ken Floyd, is certified in church revitalization ministry through Dr. Thom Rainer’s Church Revitalization Institute. Ken and the MARBC also partner with Clare Jewell and the Regular Baptist Ministries’ Genesis Initiative. This initiative offers coaching and practical assessment resources to assist pastors and local churches.
Here is an example of church revitalization and adoption projects taking place between churches in the MARBC. This the testimony of the partnership of two Grand Rapids area churches, Magnify Church (Bythefield Hills Baptist Church) in Rockford with the former Northland Baptist Church in Grand Rapids. The new campus is now called Magnify Church - Northview campus.
