The Word Has It
"Strengthen me according to Your word,” Psalm 119:28 Ken Floyd MARBC State Representative October's Word: “Listen” “I will hear what God the LORD will speak; for He will speak peace to His people, and to His saints.” Psalm 85:8 Back in the days when the telegraph was the fastest method of long distance communication, a young man applied for a job as a Morse Code operator. Answering an ad in the newspaper, he went to the office that was listed. When he arrived, he entered a large, busy office filled with noise and clatter, including the sound of the telegraph in the background.

EAST CHINA, Fellowship Baptist Church (Pastor Bill Blount) – Praise the Lord, Fellowship has seen Him work through many ministries in the past several months. In July the teen group saw God work mightily through their missions trip to Washington, D.C. Each day the teens worked at Daybreak Ministries, an inner-city organization that works with children and families. Each morning, the teens went throughout the neighborhood to paint doors and stairwells and pick up garbage. This enabled the teens to interact with neighbors and to invite children to the Vacation Bible School that was held every afternoon. When children arrived for DVBS they were given a sack lunch. The FBC teens ate their lunches with the children in order to interact with them. Five children were saved during the week of DVBS ministry. The week in D.C. was followed by a week at Lake Ann Camp. Both the missions trip and camp week were life changing for many of the teens.
BRONSON, First Baptist Church (John Fields) – On Sunday, July 22, First Baptist of Bronson celebrated 150 years of “Faithfully Preaching the Gospel” from 1857-2007. 170 people gathered together to rehearse the Faithfulness of our God. The Worship Service included testimonies from current and former members, wonderful congregational singing and special music. Letters were read from those who were unable to attend, including former Pastor’s wives and Pastor’s childen. Rev. Ken Floyd, MARBC State Representative, gave a special challenge. Rev. Vernon Rosenau, Baptist Mid-Missions field administrator for Africa and Europe, was the keynote speaker. First Baptist has supported members of the Rosenau family for 87 years. A catered luncheon was served outdoors under tents. The afternoon service included more special music and Pastor Fields' challenge regarding the church's future commitment. To God Be the Glory Great things He hath done!
