![]() Charles Reed Memorial Service Details The delayed memorial service for Pastor Charles Reed, planned for July 11th at 2pm, has been adjusted to address the Corona-virus situation. The location has been changed to a large tent on the camp ground attached to the Lakefield Baptist Church, 24230 County Road 98, McMillan MI 49853, approximately 15 miles west of Newberry. Following the service, fellowship and a very light snack will be offered, the location, either inside or or outside around the church’s fellowship hall, to be based on individual preference and weather. The family encourages patronage of local restaurants during the supper hour.

Thomas White, Jeremy Pierre, and Mike Hess served as speakers for this special gathering of the Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio Regular Baptist Associations. Over 400 were in attendance for this special gathering. 42 displayers from a variety of ministries provided helpful information for those in attendance. Kathy Schroder shared an impactful session for women on Tuesday afternoon. Each state association planned for future ministry initiatives during business sessions on Tuesday afternoon.

Four MARBC pastors each chose a Biblical text that illustrates the application of one of the four core values.
In Search of Soul Satisfaction, John 4 Jeff Burr, host pastor serving at Forest Hills Baptist Church and current Vice Chairman of the MARBC Council of 16, shared in the first general session. He opened his message by sharing a brief overview of the decline of Kodak as its industry’s gold standard. The business thoroughly dominated its technological field but lost sight of it’s corporate vision. Burr then traced how Jesus overcame various barriers in sharing the gospel with those he encountered using the narrative of John 4.
Two practical church ministry breakout sessions were featured at the 2017 MARBC Conference. Titled “Stories from the Front” both sessions featured testimonies from church leaders who have served in integral ways in the rescue of struggling churches.
![]() The MARBC messengers welcomed a new sister church, Grace Baptist Church in Marshall, into the association during the Monday business session. Brandon Crawford, Grace’s pastor, received the right hand of fellowship from the Council of 16 during the Monday evening service. Brandon and his wife Melanie have served at Grace since 2010.
